Kinda depends on the room its in, If its a dedicated game room I would put blackout curtains on the wall and get an HD projector with surround sound and a couch or chairs
if you are gaming with a pc you will want a small desk with a separate monitor for gaming and just switch to the projector for movies.
Projectors are the cheapest way to get a lot of screen real estate without breaking the bank another option would be DLP projection tvs because they look great and you can pick up a used 60″ for a fraction of what a LCD would cost
